RMG188 - MacWorld Expo Part 1
Some people are still running legacy systems! (From Wikimedia Commons).
Welcome to the 88th edition of Radio MacGuys and Part 1 of our special MacWorld Expo 2006 Edition.
It was an amazing week at the MacWorld Expo. I met lots of interesting people, saw cool new stuff and ate amazing foods and several incredible beers.
I recorded part of the podcast at the Sony Metreon, a high-tech entertainment, restaurant and shopping complex next to Moscone Center.
One of the highlights for me was attending a seminar presented by Schoun Regan on Tiger security. I left the seminar quite a bit more paranoid regarding my system security.
Of course, the star of the show as the new MacBook Pro. I'm waiting for the 12" form factor and for a little more information on the unit's battery life. I can tell you that the new book is wicked fast.
If you're worried about spyware, trojan horses and things like keystroke loggers, check out MacScan from SecureMac. Their newly upgraded product is designed to do just that and well worth taking a look at.
As we were walking home from an amazing party, we came across a group of men singing acapella outside of the Metreon. They turned out to be the Richter Scales, a group of folks who have strong ties to the IT industry. The podcast ends with "I've Got Mail" by group member Brian Rosen who has a day job being the Technical Director for Pixar.
