RMG150 - Backing Up

Welcome to the 50th episode of Radio MacGuys.

Welcome to the attendees in San Francisco who came from all over the world to attend WWDC. Whether or not the rumors are true, this is going to be a very interesting day.

Apple is offering a 10% discount on a new iPod if you bring in an old one for recycling. Details are here.

Apple design guru, and Vice President of Industrial Design, Jonathan Ive, picked up two awards in the UK recently.

In an article in Slashdot, it is suggested that 16% of computer users are on the Mac OS platform.

Last week, I responded to a Adam Curry's comments regarding the problems he was having with Lacie hard drives. Several listeners pointed out that I sounded like an apologist for Lacie and wasn't "standing up for the little guy". While my experience with Lacie has been mostly positive, I understand that when drives fail, it's a bad thing. On the other hand, they do fail, and it's important to back up. In this episode, backup strategies are covered.

Today's episode is a bit long and includes two tunes from the Florida State Archives.

Have all the fun.
Dave
